After Easter each year the winter's snow quickly retreats and visitors
suddenly discover that Klosters is just as exciting and enticing in summer as
it is in winter. The meadows soon turn a rich green, which gives way to a riot
of colourful alpine flowers, contrasting wonderfully with the backdrop of
the snow-topped mountains. Cow bells compete gently with countless
streams gurgling with pristine water. As the summer season develops, the
mountain cable cars reopen to transport hikers and bikers alike up to a new
lofty world demanding to be explored.
As in winter, Klosters caters equally well for the energetic as it does for
those seeking an easier and gentler time. Some will be seeking extreme
downhill biking - freeriding - or paragliding, whilst others will be equally
content sunning themselves by one of the outdoor pools or sipping a drink
at one of the many mountain restaurants. The range of sports and activities
is almost endless, but to mention just a few, includes tennis, golf,
mountaineering, horse riding and cycling.
During the summer months the transport facilities in the entire Klosters
and Davos region - including the cable cars and mountain railways - are all
free of charge for Klosters' guests (and of course for our guests!).The
summer season and nearly all the activities continue until the end of
October. Many insist this is the best time of all to visit the Alps. Clear blue
skies contrast with the truly rich golds, yellows and reds of the valleys'
trees and forests.
